L1A Intracompany Transferee
The L1 inter transferee visas allow company employees to transfer into the US, accept wages, and remain in the US. There are two types of L1 visas, first the managerial and executive L1 inter transferee visa and secondly a specialized knowledge inter transferee visa. The executive manager L1A visa allows an individual to transfer through their company to the US and perform executive duties.
The Process
- There should be an affiliate subsidiary partner company in the foreign country.
- The new office should be a subsidiary affiliate partner of the home company.
- The foreign national must have been employed by the home company for at least one year in the two years prior to filing.
- These applications are very difficult, thus an attorney is necessary for a successful
filing.
